East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc. Announces www.CertifiedHardwoods.com

Website Launched to Feature Third-Party Certified Woods

DALLAS – OCTOBER 9, 2008
East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc., the industry leader in First European Quality teak and other fine exotic hardwood products, announces the launch of a new website dedicated to its eco-friendly line of hardwood products: www.CertifiedHardwoods.com. East Teak will highlight its current stock of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, 100 % post-consumer recycled teak and rosewood, its new stock of FSC-certified ipe and tigerwood, as well as future hardwood species and products carrying a third-party certification.

The creation of the new website is the result of the high demand from those looking for more sustainable timber because of concerns about the potential impact of building materials on the environment. In response, East Teak is building its inventory of FSC-certified hardwoods to meet the industry's need for eco-friendly products that are beautiful and sustainable.

"Architects, designers and project contractors are continuing to increase their demands for sustainable building products," says Matt Mladenka, Marketing and Sales Director of East Teak. "In addition to our stock of our FSC-certified, 100% recycled teak and rosewood, we now offer FSC-certified ipe and tigerwood, and more woods to come in 2009."

A third-party certified label, such as FSC, guarantees that all timber is harvested from both legal and responsible sources. East Teak is audited annually by BM Trada, the FSC-certifying body, to ensure the highest legal and environmental standards are met.
